Translation: Process of
rendering written communication from one language into another. We use only
native speakers of the target languages (Danish, Finish, Icelandic, Norwegian
and Swedish) and we deliver culturally sensitive translations, in other words,
texts that takes into account cultural differences.
Editing and revision: Careful comparison of the target text against the source text. In this
process we check: content, overall structure, terminology, structure within
paragraphs, clarity, style, suitability for target audience, etc. This job is
done by a second language provider (not the same person who did the
translation) for optimal results.
Proofreading: This is a process where text is being scanned
for grammar, syntax and spelling errors. The meaning of words and terminology
is not important, as the job focuses only on the correctness of the text.
Ideally done by a third person but can also be done by the editor/revisor.

translating text. Closely related to internationalization and cultural
adaption.
Interpretation:

another, or the output that results from this process. We mainly focus on
consecutive interpretation (the interpreter speaks after the source-language
speaker has finished speaking).

primarily used for the purpose of advertising or marketing. This type of
written material is often used to persuade a person or group as well as raise
brand awareness.

emotions rather than to simply convey information.

Did you know...? The Nordic economies are
among the countries in the Western World with the best macroeconomic
performance in the recent ten years. Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden have
for example experienced constant and large excess exports in recent years. [...]
At the same time, unemployment is low in most of the Nordic countries
compared with the rest of Europe. [...] Over the past ten years, the Nordic
countries had a noticeably larger increase in their gross domestic product
(GDP) than the eurozone. [...] Measured by GDP per capita, the Nordic
countries have a higher income than the Eurozone countries. Norway’s GDP per
capita is as high as 80 per cent above the EA17 average, and Norway is
actually one of the countries with the highest standard of living in the world. From Wikipedia, "Nordic
countries", 8th of June 2015 |
